Now I'm writing a version of the story which I wish was written out there or at least finished. If you like, I'll continue. Note: If you are a Carrie Fan and want more stories on her, go to CFAS (Carrie Fernandez Appreciation Society). It can easily be located on yahoo by searching Carrie Fernandez. (Previously. . .) "I changed my mind. It wouldn't do to let demon like you to warn of my presence before I purge the place of its demons. Feel honoured you will be the first to face redemption, as I shall be your salvation. . ." Smirking, he raised both hands, palms facing outwards. Turning them around, he clenched a fist before opening up repeatedly three times, revealing more of the strange spherical weapon between his fingers as he had his arms before him in a cross guard. Only one eye could be seen to only those who stood before him. He looked almost devilish in his modified stance of what should have been a passive holy stance. He would drive fear within all the filth that plagued the land for he had come, to grant them the eternal darkness. A sadistic grin plastered on his face. Renon was beyond angry now. He'd show this mortal not to mess with his him. Though he would not get paid for this, he would still enjoy tearing him limb from limb. . . "Just hurdle up and die? Kay?" Shinning another of his devilish stares which made him look like the one, who was truely evil between the two of them. With that ending further conversation, the human dashed toward him displacing swirling dust as aftermath as he took off to a sprint for him, as he stood there chained. He'd have to fix that. . . Chapter 18 * * * * * * * * * * A Second Thorn * * * * * * * * * * Taking initiative, the demon hunter plunged the spherical weapons into the demon with claw like grace, drawing much more demonic blood than there should be. Renon writhed in agony as he caught on fire. Scowling, his canine teeth were visible through his mouth. The mortal had to die, and die he shall. Transforming in an instant the chain of papers incinerated, he threw his tainted pole arm before him to intercept the twin rapiers which appeared moments after his hands disappeared and reappeared from his gigantic cloak. Sparks flew as Alex hacked away without delay in horizontal, vertical, and half turning patterns from one form to the next spreading sparks in its wake kicking up the elements. Even in all this, his eyes never left his pray. "It is foolish to fight the will of GOD! I am his messenger and I am your executioner! Stop now and accept your divine retribution!" the priest shouted in the mist of combat. Flapping his leathery wings away from an oncoming downward stroke, he let loose with a wake of fire which was still as effective in the current elements. Very hard to avoid, and it did not fail. He smiled as the priest lit up in a ball of flames, before frowning as he saw him remove his predicament, by tossing aside his cloak and throwing his spherical elemental weapons in pursuit of the gravity defying foe in retaliation. Deflecting the nuisance aside with the flat of his pole arm, Renon repeated his last attack. This time prepared, Alex leaped to the side, before tuck, rolling, and propelling off his hands from the cold snow back to a defensive position, with both rapiers crossed before him. Looking above, he saw the descending crescent strike. Prepared he was to intercept, but unprepared to deal with the second part the fates would deal him which followed immediately. Staring into the eyes of the devil as his muscles strained to the max and on the brink of exhaustion, concentration occupied, Alex could only enlarge his eyes in shock as a flaming arrow pierced his chest from his back. His breath quickly escaped him, as he growled in pain. Renon jumped back as he saw who and what was to come next. Crouching down coughing up blood, Alex knew he was done with. The sudden tip of a blade that appeared out before his chest confirmed it. He had felt a great amount of pain, almost unbearable. Slowly he felt nothing. That could only mean one thing. . . "Rusted it may be, but it is enough for the likes of you. The master will be pleased. . ." the voice of a female whispered to the priest. Jerking the sword from his wound with his dripping hands, he stumbled down with an arm over his wound, and the other clasping the cross around his neck. The fates had dealt him a bad hand. . . Seeing such a feat surprised Rosa, as she found herself jumping back to distance herself. *Beaten by these contaminations. . . How can this be?* Struggling to his feet by pure will power, he made silent prayer, before his arms zipped to perform the last seals he would ever perform. "Feel honored, that I shall take you all to heaven with me! Embrace the light which purifies all evil!" Finishing the seals, everything around him caught ablaze as he burned laughing like a mad man with his head laid back with an arm resting upon his forehead in holy flames, as it consumed him whole. His onslaught was not gone unseen, as the massive burst of aura rallied much attention. Soon his life force diminished as it was drained to the last drop. After a few long seconds, he dropped to his knees slowly gave way, before he reluctantly lay unmoving on the soil beneath him. The charred debris beneath him made way for him welcomingly. He was tired now, so very tired. He would welcome sleep, as he had no choice but to welcome sleep, for it had claimed him whole. "ALEX!!!" shouted a voice distant, but fast approaching from the forest beyond. Shaking the dirt out of his newly soiled suit, Renon glared back at the corpse before making his leave. The insolent fool actually thought that cheap trick could do him in. Hearing the distant voices, no doubt the others were coming. It wouldn't do to be caught in the act. It drove away mortals from buying his wears. . . Image was very important these days. "Well well, what a predicament we have here? It seems you have finally been completely turned. . ." he smirked. "So I have. The master will be pleased by my- our progress. . ." *The master may reward me for this. . .* Rosa smiled. To be praised by Lord Dracula was the highest honor. Looking at his expensive watch he tipped his hat to her. "Look at the time, I shall make my leave now. There is much to do. I thank you for your assistance. . ." The rustling steps of crunching snow indicated how close the other two were coming. With that, he walked beyond the gates before he disappeared around the corner. Rosa too made a hasty exit back to the Villa. Not a tinge of regret could be seen upon her face. The vampirism had all but won, as only a small conscience was left of her humanity. (Elsewhere, Carrie's room) Eternal bliss. The two words that would describe perfectly how she felt right now. She and Malus had been sleeping together since, but they did not perform sex. For their relationship was not so simple, nor was it normal. To be close to one another, to feel the presence of each other, was enough. Carrie's thoughts would always linger to how this all came to be. If she had gone through to slay Malus back when she had the chance, her end could have been differently. She would find herself wondering what would have happened under different circumstances. Would she have been just as happy? She found herself without answer. Rolling to look back at him, she ran her smooth hands to brush away some wisps of hair from his face. The surface was cold, as it always was. Proof that what they basked in was no normal commitment. He stirred, and rolled over. If he were not a vampire, then things might have been, would have been less complicated. For love they shared, but a strange one at that. Opening his crimson eyes, she found comfort in them. "They have arrived. . . Will you join me?" taking her hand and his, she felt that feeling again. The emptiness inside was gone as she had once again a purpose. She found herself wishing to help him more. Maybe even change him to grow less cold to the world as she once was. If he were to keep pursuing his ideal to corrupt her world by conquering it, they would never live happily. She would be alright if they never left the castle for the rest of their lives, her life. . . What she wanted was maybe something selfish, but she wished for something eternal. She wanted eternal happiness. Seeing the nod, he held his hand out to her. Staring at the woman he loved, he couldn't help but put a smile upon his lips. "We still have some time on our hands. Walk with me. . ." he whispered. * * * * * * * * * * End of Chapter 18 * * * * * * * * * * Authors Notes: This is getting harder to write on so many people and battle at the same time! I'm so screwed! Anyways I got a really good plot now, but it'll probably take another 3-4 chapters before I can insert it! Might take days for my next updates, as it is getting stressful.
