Castlevania: Dark Haven (Alternate Ending) I give credit to the people who created Castlevania's bad Carrie ending. Now I'm writing a version of the story which I wish was written out there or at least finished. If you like, I'll continue. "Come now, it's time to fulfill the contract." And with an arm extended towards her, he smiled. Chapter 3 It's alright They began walking through a hallway. A section of the castle which was unexplored by Carrie. The blood red carpet was the same in all hallways, but what made it stand out more was that this one hand actual paintings. They were unlike the previous with scary, intimidating faces of Dracula. There was a picture of this pretty woman, surrounded by red roses and then some. What was most peculiar was the fact that the ceiling was made of glass. This hallway was so well lit, that even Carrie found it strange that the Dark Lord would have a section of his domain filtered with such light. A place like this would prevent many dark creatures from straying here for sure. It created a sense of ease and serenity which was not lost by Carrie. It had a calming effect which was non existent in the few days she had taken, wandering around for an unknown period of time to face Dracula. But what was the use now? She faced him, but got tricked not once, but twice. She had no doubt that she was the naïve little girl which the fiend had said she was, regardless of her hate, she could not deny the truth behind his words. Carrie continued to struggle against the bonds which were placed upon her. The blasted contract was stopping her from killing her most hated foe. Raising an eyebrow, Dracula stopped his delicate pace. "Oh come now, must I drag you all the way? Why fight a battle which you cannot win? I've been quite lenient with you. Accept your fate." Speaking as if a teacher to a student. *I should start walking myself. This isn't getting me anywhere.* With that thought, she sighed with head held low, staring at her captor's feet. A defeated look embraced the features of her face, as she knew she was surely at the mercy of this man. No, not a man, but a vampire. What unexpectingly happened next, was Dracula lifting her chin slightly to eye level with him. Both eyes crimson seemed to give a mesmerizing sense of innocence as their eyes entwined. This feeling struck her odd. Then, he genuinely smiled at her. Not his usual intimidating smile which he used on those he thought beneath him, but one with sincerity or evil intent. "Good girl." Were Dracula's words at this. Roughing up her hair as if she were already family before he continued walking with a happier grace then before. A happy Dark Lord, was good. When they were in a good mood, they wouldn't kill you. Usually. A sudden blush replaced Carries face. *What is this feeling? It can't be love. I could never love a creature of the night. Especially the king of vampires.* For when she wandered in her own thoughts, she found another question needing answered. *Why is Dracula not as evil as the legends say him to be? I thought that he would be merciless to those beneath him and the very definition of what evil would be.* ("Hurry up, your slowing down the inevitable.") Dracula's voice resonated in her mind. She almost tripped at this, but decided that since being immortal, came with its perks of dark powers. She quickly jogged up to the vampire, as he opened a nicely decorated wooden door. He motioned her in with a hand gesture, and she replied kindly by scowling at him as she walked in. Inside was not what she expected. A chamber with chandeliers hanging about and candle stalls lining up most of the cold concrete wall. A coffin, decorated in many strips of gold and pieces of craftsmanship sat at the far end of the room, opposite of the two visitors. "I thought Dracula slept at the top of the clock tower?" "That is where I like to finish my battles. A dramatic place where the victor walks home, and the loser loses his life. An art in the making if I do say so myself. Besides, it's so noisy there that I would remain restless." Carrie had totally forgotten she had company as she questioned. But regaining composure turned around and she asked, "Why have you brought me here?" "Is that anyway to talk to your new master?" "I do hate you." She replied honestly. Shrugging, Dracula answered truthfully. "When I first held you in my sights, I knew you were different from the rest. I know what I want, and what you can do for me. You possess a great power, do you not? So it was imperative that I had to have you in my grasp, or no one else would. But as you can see you are alive and well. With much reluctance, I have decided you worth keeping." With that, he snapped his fingers and his coffin slid open. As he began walked to his coffin, and slid in he spoke once more with a hand gesture. "Join me." "What???" shocked was an understatement to Carrie. "I said join me, girl. I won't bite." a bit sarcastically. She was reluctant as she didn't know what the count was planning. On the other hand, she found herself disgusted that she would feel a slight excitement in doing so. Growing impatient, Dracula was about to step out and grab her regardless if she were cooperating or not, but instead she came to him in a slow pace. With a smile, and as she was about to step in, he had a change of heart. "I changed my mind, you may take the guest room next door." With a cheerful grin, he took in the relieved look his victim had which turned to annoyance. Taking a step back, she took a deep breath. Next, she tried lunging at Dracula again, detaching the razor rings quickly and performed a swing. Her arms felt heavy as she failed once more to kill him. Tears slowly making their way down her delicate face at her powerlessness. "You're happy aren't you? That I am reduced to this. You've stolen away from me my revenge, and left me to this. You continue to deceive me. I know I'm naïve, but why do I deserve to have it rubbed in my face so much? I wish you would just kill me now... To spare me from this humiliation." Long lost feelings surfaced once more on Dracula. A slight feeling of guilt was in him as he got up and gave a huge to the crying girl while thinking about words of comfort. "There, there. child. Do not cry." he tried, while rubbing her back. She continued to sob. "It's not your fault I am the way I am. I'm sorry. I need more time." Was her ears playing tricks on her again? Was Dracula actually saying he was sorry? She certainly felt better now after the words which she had heard. *He said he was sorry. I should forgive him. That's what mother would say.* She took a moment to recollect her thoughts before she gave eye contact once more while rubbing away a few drops. "It's okay." "If it's any consolation, know that you've put a smile upon my face." Carrie frowned at this, but caught a double meaning and smiled weakly after before bursting into a light giggle. Dracula found it contagious, as he too began laughing with her. Very out of character was he this morning. *Maybe it won't be so bad.* her thoughts wandered as she basked in the cheerful atmosphere created by the two of them. End of Chapter 3 Authors notes: Well, I hope you people like where the stories going. I am not making it really angst, and hope you all find the small moments to be heart warming. =D
