Castlevania: Dark Haven (Alternate Ending) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I give credit to the people who created Castlevania's bad Carrie ending. Now I'm writing a version of the story which I wish was written out there or at least finished. If you like, I'll continue. (Previously. . .) "I am dieing now, Carrie. . . Place me in my coffin. . . Where I may slumber once more. . ." * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Chapter 6 Contract Voided * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Slowly, Carrie carried Dracula over her back. Taking steady steps, as the figure behind her not only weighed heavier than herself, but was taller as well. His blood stained her current wear, which had taken its toll with neglect. Her eyes stained with dry tears, as her eyes were redder than usual. To those afar, it would make her look sinister, and twisted. But if you looked carefully, and paid enough attention to her eyes, you would see the sorrow behind them. The halls were bare, as not a single soul wandered. Demons would think the halls she now walked as defiled, a cursed place, as humans would call it purged. For no demon found comfort in walking under such scenery. Lost in her thought, she had arrived in her Dracula's chambers, as if time seemed displaced. Slowly lowering the man to his resting place, she sat observing him. He looked paler than normal. His hair seemed to have taken white highlights, proof of his weakened state. The illuminating candle light, seemed to make it even worse. It gave the thought in her mind of a man in his death bed. she stayed by his side with her head resting at his side and prayed to whatever gods out there to spare him. While an undetermined amount of time passed, she remained and mind drifted. She felt there was no better place to be, but here right now. Her thoughts strayed. She finally had the chance to end her supposed most hated man, and to others, the greatest evil to walk the Earth. Any other would have taken his life now that he was defenseless. But, what comes after if she did go through with it? Where could she go? She had never thought of the aftermath. . . She would loss sense of direction, like a lost child. . . As she continued, she eventually fell asleep hoping against hope, that he would pull through. The candles burned and flickered out soon after. (Early Morning) As Carrie woke up, she stretched lightly, before rubbing the sleep away from her eyes. She winced on contact, as they were sore. *I must have cried a lot last night. . .* Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself for the conclusion. She had never prayed much before, and hoped she did it right. Her mother use to tell her that god was merciful as long as you believed in him. Smiling at that, she opened her eyes only to find. . . The coffin was empty. Smile quickly fading, her mind raced. *Could he have crumbled to dust last night? Oh no. . . NO NO NO!!!* With hands clasped at her mouth as her eyes welled, she took a step back. "This is a dream isn't it?. . . This is the worst. . . Okay now. . . I can wake up now. . ." she strained a smile as her eyes distorted her expression. A look of disbelief was within them. She stood like that for a few more moments, before she decided to run. She could not take the hurt which was in her heart. She had to run away from it all. It didn't matter where she ran, she just had to run, she had to escape from this nightmare! Not paying much attention as she dashed out the door, tears glistening behind her trail, she passed a figure without knowing. Blinded in her own world that she didn't notice until he held tight on her arm as she was about to pass. Swinging her back with mighty strength, her vision backed toward the looming figure. As she noticed the figure, she grasped tightly onto his cloak, before letting her hands wander upon his face to assure herself that he was real and was really, really before her. Shakily, she spoke. "If I am dreaming, I wish I never wake up. . . So I may see you alive and well for the rest of my life. . . Even if it is a lie, I want to keep dreaming. . . That is all I want. . ." "It is not a dream. . . I am here. . . I will always be here. . . When you need me, I will be waiting here. . . Now, and forever. . ." Words could not describe the feelings that stirred in her now. She embraced Dracula tightly, as if it would be the last time. She broke down, and let the tears flow freely as she half heartedly cursed at him for making her worry. They did nothing but amplify her beauty to him. She could be satisfied by staying in his warm embrace, but all things must end. "Will you forgive me for what I have done?. . . My moment of foolishness?" she sobbed. Crouching down to his knees, he wiped her face with his sleeve, he answered slowly, as he picked his words carefully with another question as he placed his strong hands on her shoulder. "Will you stay by my side for eternity then?" *He forgives me. . .* Slowly, she locked her arms behind Dracula's neck, resting her head on his chest as she slowly nodded with eyes closed. Blood veins popped into vision of Vlad's keen eyesight. They were located invitingly along the neck before him. They were tempting and looked delicious, as he was still not quite at fool strength. His long silky hair still had some grey highlights from the lack of nutrition he required. The ordeal last night had left him weak and drained. He had only been out for a short moment to feed on livestock as he caught glimpse of her sleeping serenely earlier by his bedside. Even though he had feed, it was not quite enough to satisfy his thirst. Fangs baring open on his vampire instincts, he clenched them shut as he turned away, cursing himself for giving into his urges. Stepping back to distance himself from her, else she tempt him further, he looked disgusted before replacing the look with a smile, by a curling of his lips. It didn't take a genius to figure what was going on, as Carrie saw the out of place fangs baring from his clenched mouth. "If you are hungry, I can give you some of my blood. . ." she offered, as she took a step forward. Nodding his head in reluctance, he gave his answer clear in the silent gesture alone. Deciding she would have to take matters into her own hands, she took initiative and cut her wrist lightly with one of her rings before Malus could react. A small stream of crimson liquid slowly slid a path down her palm, to her fingers and dripped. "It's okay. . . You need to eat. . . Or you might. . ." She left the sentence unfinished at that. Giving a look of appreciation, he slowly walked back, holding up her wrist lightly, before sucking slowly. The taste was intoxicating. But, he would have to be careful from draining her dry. It would displease him if she were to die by his desire for blood which could never be satisfied. No matter how much he drank, he would always feel a slight hunger for more. He took only so much to make him less hungry, before licking her wound shut. "I feel a bit. . . Dizzy." He knew this of coarse. After losing a portion of blood, one would feel the need to sleep for the body to replenish its reserves. Smiling weakly, Carrie fell asleep in his embrace. Holding her up, Malus gently shifted her weight and carried her back towards her room. The sunlight was still irritating him to no end. How humans could enjoy it he could only guess. But, it did make the beauty before him more stunning. He had little doubt that when she did grow up, she'll be a heart breaker with her exotic looks. Once he regained his strength, he will move forward his plan to purge the lands of the disease which was human. They would probably have hired mercenaries or adventurers to try and stop him seeing that his castle still stood. But that would have to wait until after he took care of her. As he gently lay her down upon the all consuming bed of the once guest room, and blanketed her small frame, he voiced his thoughts. "Only a fool would choose the path which you have chosen. But you are naïve, aren't you?. . ." Staring at the human before him for awhile, he snapped his fingers, as a transparent contract appeared. Releasing the contract from his fingers, he turned around and left to prepare his legion of servants in the upcoming war he would initiate. *What need of I of the binding contract, when she would now embrace her new life with me?* smirking, he knew that it would only further his Carrie's trust in him. But now, he would give her free will and do as she wished. He no longer wanted to force her to commit crimes against her own people if she did not wish it. Stopping before fazing through the wall, not caring whether she heard or not, he spoke over his shoulder to the hearer behind. "I have freed you. You may do as you wish. You are now the master of your own fate. . ." The contract burst to purple flames as soon as it hit the ground he used to stand upon, before vanishing without a trace. * * * * * * * * * * End of chapter 6 * * * * * * * * * * Author Notes: Hmm, well I don't know of this chapter was corny, but I really had to get down thinking and stuff to get the story going. Hope you enjoyed it! Now, must have time to think of future events. I have it planned, but I have to find a way to write it. . .
